As they possess no harm to mouth skin, you can use them on your mouth ulcers. Cover the mouth ulcer area with toothpaste and leave it there for a few minutes. After that rinse it with water. Gargling with salt water is another effective throat ulcer home remedy. Add a spoonful of salt with a glass of lukewarm water. Now gargle with this water for a few minutes. It will give you relief from the pain. After applying the salt water gargle, use normal water gargling for rinsing out the salty taste from your mouth. 

7.    Orange Juice:

Vitamin C deficiency causes frequent mouth ulcers. It also welcomes other ailments as Vitamin C deficiency impacts your immune system. You can either go for vitamin C supplements or can go natural with orange juices. Oranges are full of Vitamin ‘C’ which prevents mouth ulcers. While eating direct ulcers can be problematic for you, two glasses of freshly squeezed orange juice can do wonders.

In case you’re feeling an extreme burning sensation from the sore, you can use ice cubes on it, Not directly though. Suck the ice chips after melting their base. Apply this on the sore to have an instant cooling effect. 

Note- Never apply the ice cube directly to the ulcer area. It may deteriorate the wound. Instead, use a paper towel to apply it to the wound. It will instantly give a cooling sensation and also reduce inflammation. 

9.    Baking Soda Paste: 

Baking soda, chemically known as Sodium Bicarbonate is alkaline and counters the acidic effect formed by the ulcers. While most people use it as a cleaning agent, it is a wonderful healer of ulcers. 

Mix equal amounts of baking soda and water. Mix them well to make a thick layer. Now apply this paste on the inner skin of the mouth on the ulcer area and leave it to dry. After rinsing it out, gargle with water. Do it thrice a day till it gets healed. 

10.  Damp Tea Bags: 

Damp Tea Bags

Tea leaves are alkaline. It means they can neutralise the burns and inflammation caused by mouth ulcers. As it is rich in Astringent, it helps reduce pain. 

After using the tea bags, don’t throw them off. Instead, keep them safe in the fridge for a few hours only. Apply the damp tea on the ulcers to get relief from them.

Precautions to Take: 

The only precaution is not to eat some specific food as they can increase the irritation and pain in the mouth. 

  • Avoid citrus fruits
  • Leave spicy & oily food for a few days.
